Matt and Mags
Matt knew he shouldn't have been sneaking around the Victors Village. It was stupid and risky, but he was hungry and the last time he'd managed to get away with a whole loaf of fresh bread. He ducked under the window sniffing the air and listening hard for trouble. He knew he was risking a lot just to eat, but it wasn't like there was much more a blind guy could do without signing up for more chances and Matt liked living too much to be early canon fodder for the Games. He reached up to the window sill and started to lift and twist himself into the window. The Victor who lived here was old and would never notice him taking a little bit more food.

Being a Victor had just served to make him paranoid. And having the house to himself for now had not helped. There was no distraction for the past, nor any sound to distract from creaking wood work. And he knew the settling sounds of this place far too well.
the kitchen was large, well used, but neat and orderly. Most things were put away, though as was custom in his family, there was bread rising in a basket in a warm corner and fruit left out in a bowl.
Magnus stalked to the kitchen on near silent, bare feet.

Matt's stomach growled at the smell of the bread and he was tempted to snatch it, but that could get him caught. So he went fort the fruit first snatching at the topmost piece. He breaths in the scent of it and then freezes. Something wasn't right.....the house should be empty but it didn't sound empty. Matt tucked the bit of food in his pocket and turned to go.
How old is Matt here btw?
Waiting.
Whoever was in his kitchen was tucking some of his fruit into his clothes and that is when Magnus walked in. Still silent. Angry almost.
"Are you lost?" His voice was strong for someone his age.
15 thanks for asking
no problem
"You climbed in a window." Seeing how young he was tamped down his temper. But not entirely.
Re: no problem
Matt isn't sure how to explain that his hearing allows him to sense where things might be. It's weird enough being a blind kid in a society that values people who aren't damaged. He doesn't want to be a freak too. "I'm blind not paralyzed," he replied his tone a bit sharp, "I just need to feel for the sill and then climb up and I'm fine. I felt to make sure the window was open and swung in."

Matt doesn't flinch as the man moved closer. He wasn't afraid of much to the point he had earned the nickname "The Boy without Fear." "Doesn't make sense to walk in the door when you are trying to steal something," he says with a huff. "The whole point is to get in and out."

"Because no one has noticed me stealing yet," Matt says, "I've been doing it for years. I don't have anyone else but me and I'm not about to double my chances for a Reap, just for charity. That's how kids get killed."
